ISLAMABAD: To facilitate overseas Pakistanis and foreign tourists visiting the country, the government has launched the online Temporary Mobile Phone Registration System. This service allows registration and tax free mobile usage for up to 120 days from the date of arrival.

Empowering Expats and Tourists

Under this initiative, overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals can now enjoy the convenience of using their personal mobile phones without any duty or tax during their stay in Pakistan. Students, employees, and individuals visiting the country for tourism or business purposes can benefit from this new facility, enhancing their communication experience.

During the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to support overseas Pakistanis. He hailed this initiative as a significant step to facilitate millions of expats by offering them a seamless process to register their mobile phones while visiting the country, without incurring any taxes.

Extended Usage for Expats

With the introduction of the Temporary Mobile Phone Registration System, overseas Pakistanis can now utilize their mobile phones for four months after completing the registration process during their stay in Pakistan. This move aims to enhance their connectivity and make their visit more enjoyable.
